The pistons in this kit are more durable compared to the 2 piece design for applications where cylinder scuffing is more likely to occur. 3406E - C15 800HP Camshaft/ High Performance

The 800HP Industrial/Marine Cam is a drop in camshaft for 3406E/C15 engines looking for more performance out of their engine. We have used this cam in many of our own builds in the shop and have had great results.

Used in C16 and C18 Cat Engines

This camshaft is meant to be run with a 10R-0955 and larger injector. This camshaft does not work well with small injectors like 8501's or 8502's. The nozzle holes are to small and this causes fuel pressure to build up to pressures that the injector internally can not tolerate. Common side effects of using this cam with small injectors on this cam are the engine fluttering under a load above 1500RPM and sometimes the injector will just simply miss.

Liner with seals

IPD liners are exceptionally superior to OEM Caterpillar liners. We use these liners in lots of our high HP builds. The 159-9778 liner is .001 oversize to give the piston more room for expansion if you are making over the 600hp mark. All IPD liners are plateau honed for quick ring seal and long service. We have had great success with using their oversize liners; the liner has a slightly higher RVK honing value to hold more oil, which helps lubricate and cool the piston rings better than the OEM liners.
